Lamisil Cream is applied to the skin to treat fungal growths. It stops them due to the active ingredient, terbinafine hydrochloride, as well as to ensure that the fungal cells grow faster than the original infection.
Lamisil Cream should be used on the affected area twice weekly to treat a fungal infection: On the infected area, once for the treatment of the fungal infection, once for the prevention of further infection.

Lamisil AT 1% Cream is a medicine used to treat fungal infections of the skin, including athlete's foot, jock itch, and rashes. It is applied to the skin on the outside of the body, but not inside the body. It kills the fungus by blocking certain proteins (fungus-producing fungi), leaving the fungus at a constant level at the time of application.
The active ingredient in Lamisil is terbinafine. Each tablet contains 2% terbinafine and 7.3 mg of other ingredients. The active ingredient in L. A. Cream is only used for treatment of fungal skin infections.
Use Lamisil AT 1% Cream as prescribed by your doctor. If you are using the tablet at a higher dose, you may check with your doctor.
Lamisil AT 1% Cream is usually recommended as an initial treatment for athlete's foot, while it may be effective in treating jock itch, ringworm, and thrush, when used as a first-line treatment. However, it may take at least four to six weeks for the full effect of Lamisil AT 1% Cream.
The dosage is based on the type and severity of the fungal infection. For example, if you have jock itch for which you use Lamisil AT 1% Cream, you may start on a lower dose and gradually increase it until you are relieved by the full effect. If Lamisil AT 1% Cream is not effective in treating your fungal infection, your doctor may gradually reduce your dose. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose.

It is important to continue taking Lamisil AT 1% Cream as directed for at least four weeks after being relieved by your medicine.
